Many customers will want small jobs doing before they entertain at Christmas, such as plastering, lightbulbs, toilet seats and log burners. A few may even consider a bathroom, toilet or kitchen refresh (although stop short of a full refurbishment) so that their home looks its best for those visitors this festive season.

Demand for patio projects spikes in January and February. This is quite a large scale project, so customers want to get it done out of season so that they can enjoy their garden once the weather improves.

Having guests in the house over Christmas can sometimes expose its shortcomings and January is also a time for refreshing things in general, so customers may also be looking to do larger scale work on their home, the topmost projects being a new kitchen or bathroom. This may be one of the few times of year when customers even go into their loft, but it's a given that they’ll be up there at least twice to take down and later put away their Christmas decorations.
