Radiator Valves
Valves are an essential component to keeping your radiator working effectively. Whether you opt for thermostatic or standard valves, choose from a wide range of dial designs to match your towel rails and radiators.
Our range of radiator valves allow you to control your radiator’s heat output, meaning you'll always be able to achieve the ideal temperature for your home. Once you’ve set the desired temperature on the adjustable dial, the thermostat dial closes the valve. Choose from a variety of easy-to-fit sizes and finishes to suit your décor, from contemporary square angled chrome to a traditional crosshead valve. Discover our lockshield valves too, which allow you to control the flow of water in your radiators.
We also offer radiator maintenance products to enhance the life of your towel radiator or single panel radiator system.
FAQs
What’s a lockshield radiator valve?
A lockshield valve is installed on the outlet side of a radiator, which is primarily used to control the water flow in a radiator. This helps balance your entire heating system by restricting or allowing water to flow through each radiator, optimising heat distribution.
How do you change a radiator valve?
When changing a radiator valve, begin by turning off the heating, letting your radiator cool down before you begin replacing the valve. Then, shut off your water supply before draining your radiator by loosening the valve nuts and opening the bleed valve. Remove the old valve, clean the threads and fit your new valve. You should always apply PTFE tape to threads to ensure a watertight seal. Lastly, refill and bleed your radiator again to make sure there are no leaks.
How do thermostatic radiator valves work?
Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) use sensors to test the room’s temperature before regulating a radiator’s heat output. Once a room reaches the temperature you’ve set on the system, the valve will reduce hot water flow. Once the room cools back down, it automatically reopens to reach that desired temperature again.
