How do you attach fence panels to wooden posts?

All you need to do is position the panel between your posts, making sure it’s completely level before attaching the panel’s rails into your posts using galvanised screws or nails. To make alignment even easier, you can use brackets or clips instead. Make sure your panel is properly secure against your posts before you finish your project.

How to stop fence panels rattling 

To stop your fence from rattling, you need to make sure the panels are secured securely and tightly to the fence post. If you notice your fence rattling then you should check all the screws, nails or brackets that are holding the panels in place and tighten or replace where needed. Another option is to add a wooden batten where the panel meets the post as this can help reduce movement and make the panel fit even more tightly. 

How to cut a fence panel

The method you use could potentially change depending on the type of panel you’re using. However, as a general rule of thumb, you need to first measure the gap between the posts and mark a straight cutting line, leaving a small allowance so it fits seamlessly. Lay the panel flat on a stable surface, then use a handsaw or circular saw to cut through the frame and slats, keeping the cut as straight as possible with a guide.

How to disguise a fence panel

Your best option for disguising a fence panel is to use climbing plants such as ivy and vines. You could also add hedges, shrubs or trees in front of the fence.
