Current bathroom trends

Bathroom trends are evolving each year, with new accents and colour palettes to dabble in to create a relaxing and eye-catching space. In this article, Jas, one of our experienced design consultants, talks us through her favourite bathroom trends for 2024 while sharing some of her inside knowledge to help you pick your new dream bathroom.

  • Many houseplants will thrive in the humid conditions of a bathroom, especially an aloe vera or a spider plant.
  • Wet rooms are incredibly accessible and can be one of the most aesthetically pleasing additions to a bathroom.
  • Statement ceilings using wood, motifs or artwork is a bathroom trend in 2024.

What colours are trending for bathrooms? Bold and vibrant tones are making a comeback in 2024. With the likes of deep greens, violets and blues dominating the world of bathrooms, homeowners are creating a statement. If you are feeling even bolder, consider pairing your new colour scheme with gold or brass accents and a forestry feature wall for a showstopping look.

Nothing says pamper night like creating a spa in your home. Whether you choose a bath with integrated jets or a waterfall steam shower head, you will instantly add an element of luxury to your space. We have a wide range of whirlpool baths and unique shower heads to choose from. Opt for a square-shaped tub for the ultimate modern and indulgent experience.

Whether it’s checkerboard or the contemporary 3D design, the layout of your bathroom tiles can be just as impactful as their colour, shape or size. To achieve the latest trends in tiling, consider balancing a bold colour tile with a neutral paint colour, or opt for metro tiles laid out in a stack-bonded pattern to add a sophisticated look to a bathroom.

A natural and serene space

Bringing the outdoors into the home is a trend that we are seeing in all rooms, and your bathroom can take advantage of this trend too. To enhance the room’s raw and natural appearance, try introducing textured materials into the space, such as stone or concrete effect tiles and wooden shelving.

For some greenery, many houseplants will thrive in the humid conditions of a bathroom, especially an aloe vera or a spider plant. Just make sure you choose plants suitable to the natural light levels of your bathroom. To really make a statement with this sustainably-focused bathroom trend, try installing a living wall. The warmth and humidity of a bathroom is an ideal environment for a living wall and it has a huge visual impact.

Contrasting tile grout

Our grout range has expanded in recent years, with white no longer being the go-to colour. We suggest finding a tone that accents and compliments the colour of the tiles and your chosen bathroom fixings.

Nifty wet rooms

An advancement on the popular walk-in showers comes wet rooms. This new trend means you can take advantage of the luxuries of a shower room even in smaller spaces such as downstairs toilets. They’re also incredibly accessible and can be one of the most aesthetically pleasing additions to a bathroom, especially with large-paned shower screens and natural flooring such as stone or slate.

Integrated mirrors and vanity lighting

A bathroom trend that has stuck over recent years is mirrors that feature lighting either in the mirror panel or behind the mirror itself. These additions are not only practical but add the perfect finishing touch to the room, whether it's big or small. Not to mention, you are given the ideal item for tasks such as shaving and applying makeup, and they can also add softer, more relaxing lighting to the room when you want to unwind.

Unique bathroom ceilings

Our ceilings are often overlooked when renovating a home. However, a bathroom trend in 2024 is to consider every last detail, including what’s above. While you can showcase a piece of art or motif on the ceiling, replicating some of the most beautiful buildings in the world, there’s also the option of utilising timber to create a slatted or paned aesthetic.
