Data & privacy

While advertising cookies track browsing activity, they do not gather personally identifiable information such as a user's name or email address. Information is processed on an aggregate or anonymous basis.

A comprehensive list and description of each cookie used on the Wickes website is available on our cookies list page for your review.

How can you disable Cookies?
  • From our cookie preference centre: The easiest and quickest way to manage your cookies preferences is by clicking on 'your cookie settings' link on this website's footer.

  • From your browser: If you want to, you can disable cookies from your browser and delete all cookies that are stored on your computer. You can do this as often as you want to.

To find out how to do this for your particular browser, you can go to "help" on your browser's menu or you can visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/index.html.

What happens if I do disable Cookies?

You need to be aware that, if you choose to disable cookies from your browser, it may prevent you from taking full advantage of the Wickes website, as some or all of the areas of the website may fail to work for you.

You will see from the list above that some of the cookies we use on our website are considered to be strictly necessary for the operation of certain aspects of the website. Therefore, please be aware that if these cookies are disabled, we may be unable to provide certain services which you have requested.

Email Analytics

Like many other businesses, we use an email analytics service to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. Wickes marketing emails contain a pixel which tracks how many emails were sent, how many were opened and whether links in the email were followed (“click through rates”).

The information returned to Wickes includes the time, location, email address (addressee only), whether the email was forwarded, the operating system and device used to read the email, as well as IP address. We use this on an anonymous basis to measure the performance of our email messages so we can improve the relevance and effectiveness of our email marketing. This information is not added to your customer profile, nor is it used to make any decisions about individual customers.

How can I disable Email Analytics?

You can change the settings in your email client (e.g. Outlook) or web service so that images in emails (including tracking pixels) are not loaded automatically. You can find out how to do this in the settings for your email client or web service.

Alternatively, if you choose to opt out of receiving marketing emails from Wickes, you will no longer receive any of the tracking pixels that are associated with them. But, of course, by doing so, you will miss out on all the latest products, offers and competitions from Wickes.
